Ahhh the good old Alanthebox feeling... Feels like home to me...

AlantheBOX responds:

andie! what're you still doing here?!

Really pretty

Sounds intruiging. When it comes to a creepy mood, the song returns to that melancholic feeling.
Can't wait to play the actual game.

KKSlider60 responds:

Very futuristic

I really like this, the beginning is really pretty and it gives me a futuristic feel...Then it becomes a little Zelda-ish which is really cool too. Nice skills and mix of instruments. Cheers!

I love it

Very Boards of Canada. Too bad it's so short, but at the same time, I love this kind of songs, short and beautiful to hear. It reminds me of "over the horizon radar" by BOC, of the album "Geodaddi".
Great work.

Maindrian responds:

Cheers. I do like BOC a lot, but I find the ones that always capture my attention are the shorter tracks like Olsen or Heard From Telegraph Lines. Those always leave me wanting more.

Portishead ripoff

Well, those notes are almost identical to Portishead's "Over", from the album by the album "Portishead", released in 1997. Since the song itself is basically those notes repeating themselves with those """trip-hop""" drums isn't very original, at all.

Str8-Kill4h responds:

took me forever to respond..but yeah, it sounds like "Over", because thats where i got the sample from....

Incredible

I've just seen Perkele, and when I heard the music I was dying to know who the artist was, then I read "Jim Ether". I was thinking so hard where have I heard that name before...And then I rememberd "My Favorite Reviews", a flash I've laughed so much. I was really amazed how you have multiple talents, since you also edit videos and animate. This track is so good, it has that little melodic guitar, or piano, I can't decide wich instrument is, but it's like an awesome combination of Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada.
Awesome men, keep it up.

jim-ether responds:

Thank you.

So nice

I loved this cover, so well done.
The drums were lovely, and how you managed to make 'Float On' melody to this lovely sound is great. My 5 to originality is due to the cover, but inspite of that, this is a great job.
One question, what program do you use to make such songs? And it has great quality, well done!

Shael-Riley responds:

Thank you. I used Cooledit Pro and Reason. Although for the final mix, my friend ran my drums and vox through some compressors in Cubase. I would have done it myself, but I don't have Cubase. Also, I hear Cubase is made for crazy people and I'm totally sane.
